Let`s face it- these days many newbies to internetmarketing have the feeling that starting in the internetmarketing business or infobusiness is about the last exit and about time to take. So many start highly motivated and really want to get things done and moved. They do even survive first disappointments with good mental spirits, but at a certain point they tend to notice some discouragement coming up.
All the words they hear and read seem to be in a different language and even though they try hard, it seems they dont really understand the depth of it. FTP, squeezepage, landing page, ping, plug-in, adword and adsense – nobody had taught us that stuff in school and it was not even there when we were listening our teachers.
In this moment first frustration and also sometimes impatience easily comes into place. They want to “get things done” and become an expert instantly. And feeling the problems at first in picking up even the basics of the internetmarketing skills makes one maybe wonder how difficult the road is going to be ahead to even get advanced skilled someday.
In those times it is good to know that the beginning of learning a new skill is “ALLWAYS THE HARDEST PART”. Our brain needs to do implement new connections and new knowledgepatterns, which were not there before. That takes energy and unfortunately some time, so it can “sink in”. Also at this time “trying harder” or speed up things is not really the solution either as your brain does need the time.
But after the first start there will be a time when we suddenly understand many things – even advanced material- and have lifted ourself to a higher level. Our brain has established new connections and can add meat to the skeleton a lot easier from now on. A very nice feeling….
But wait – before you open the bottle of champaign you have to be aware that after this step there will be another plateau appearing at some stage, which might not feel very comfortable either. Lately our progress was very good but now for a time it has been like nothing is moving ahead anymore. Thats a typical learning plateau and it allways hits us before we make the the next quantum leap in that skill. Confusion also is a sure sign for intense learning taking place.
So being aware of this, we should relax and just do the things we are capable as good as we can do them at that stage in an alert manner…and suddenly and probably surprisingly some time we are on another level. Now this is the time you can celebrate a bit – maybe with champaign – but beeing aware the way to “mastery” of the skill will include some more plateaus we have to walk through. We should try to do it ”and bleed willingly and joyfully” (K. Gibran) on the way.
One step to the side are often some steps ahead.
